Today DoseMe is pleased to announce its precision dosing software – DoseMeRx – is now available in Epic\u2019s App Orchard Marketplace<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Epic users can now immediately take advantage of DoseMeRx, powered by SMART\u00ae and FHIR\u00ae technologies, to gain the benefits of precision dosing<\/a> – proven to reduce adverse events by up to 75% and decrease hospital stay length by more than six days.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re delighted this means the benefits of DoseMeRx are now readily available to Epic customers. Integration within a clinician\u2019s native environment and workflow is critically important to the widespread expansion and adoption of precision dosing,\u201d said Charles Cornish, CEO of DoseMe.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a huge step for our platform \u2013 Epic is one of the largest EHR vendors in hospitals and healthcare systems in the United States. The availability of DoseMeRx in the Epic EHR is helping further DoseMe\u2019s mission of powering the future of precision medicine \u2013 of which precision dosing plays a key part,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Using SMART and FHIR technologies, DoseMeRx runs inside the EHR to automatically extract readily available information such as age, weight, dose administered, renal function and previous response to therapy. Leveraging clinically validated pharmacokinetic drug models, DoseMeRx models how each patient is responding to therapy from as-little-as one assay result, to accurately calculate an individualized dose to reach the desired therapeutic target in just three clicks all within a matter of seconds.<\/p>\n

\u201cPrior to DoseMeRx, clinicians had to perform dose adjustments through laborious hand calculations, or navigate complex research based tools. By pairing complex algorithms with a simple, app-based user interface to allow a clinician to safely, quickly and accurately calculate the right dose for each individual, DoseMeRx is revolutionizing dosing utilizing information available at a clinician\u2019s fingertips,\u201d said Robert McLeay, CSO and Founder, DoseMe.<\/p>\n

\u201cPrecision medicine is no longer out of reach, we can now simply and easily take into account an individual\u2019s variability in genes, environment and lifestyle to accurately calculate the right dose – all from just one blood sample,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

DoseMe\u2019s integration with Epic follows the recent announcement of integration with Cerner Millennium<\/a>\u00ae. Work now continues with the third major EHR provider – Allscripts – to continue expanding DoseMe\u2019s offering throughout the United States and the rest of the world.<\/p>\n
