DoseMe, a leader in model-informed precision dosing (MIPD), proudly announces that Sharmeen Roy, PharmD, BCPS, has received the Excellence in Advancing Pharmacogenomics Through Collaboration award from the American Society of Pharmacovigilance (ASP). The award was presented during the Standardizing Laboratory Practices in Pharmacogenomics (STRIPE) Inaugural Meeting & Consensus Workshop on October 23, 2024, held at the U.S. Pharmacopeia Campus in Rockville, MD.

STRIPE is a collaborative community and a public-private multidisciplinary initiative to develop consensus-based industry standards for pharmacogenetics testing. The STRIPE event convened key voices in the pharmacogenomics community to establish consensus standards and strategies for advancing precision medicine.

The STRIPE Double Helix Awards recognize excellence in two categories: Excellence in Advancing Pharmacogenomics Through Collaboration and Outstanding Achievement in Pharmacogenomics. Both awards honor leaders who have propelled significant advancements in pharmacogenomics through collaboration across disciplines, organizations, and sectors. Their work helps bridge gaps in science, practice, and policy, accelerating the adoption of pharmacogenomics (PGx) to benefit patients.

“I am deeply humbled to receive this inaugural STRIPE Double Helix Award,” said Dr. Roy. “Our collective aim is to inspire continued progress in the field, ensuring that the benefits of pharmacogenomics reach all patients through collaborative efforts in research, innovation, education, clinical implementation, and advocacy. The event highlighted so many talented individuals, and it is an honor to be recognized by such an esteemed organization.”

The awards underscored the importance of collaboration and scientific achievement in expanding the accessibility and effectiveness of PGx testing. “The Double Helix Awards are a testament to the power of collaboration and scientific excellence in driving the future of precision medicine,” said Sara Rogers, PharmD, President of ASP and Clinical Assistant Professor at Texas A&M University, who also leads the STRIPE initiative. “We are proud to celebrate individuals advancing not only the science but also ensuring that pharmacogenomics becomes a central part of healthcare for everyone.”

Award recipients, selected through an open nomination process, represent the highest levels of innovation, leadership, and impact within pharmacogenomics.
